Customer story

Mobile money,
verified at every step.

Kashy is the mobile money platform Konnect built and operates with ViaMobile, the payment company of the Tunisie Telecom group. Every person who opens a wallet, every agent who serves customers and every remittance paid out in cash goes through Konnect ID.

The challenge

A mobile money wallet holds and moves real money, so each user needs a verified identity. Kashy also runs a network of agents who register customers and pay out international transfers received through partners such as Western Union, MoneyGram and Thunes. Each of those moments needs an identity check that is fast for the customer, hard to fool, and leaves a record the compliance team and the regulator can read.

Wallet onboarding

New users verify themselves in the app: they photograph their national ID card or passport, take a live selfie, and Konnect ID checks the document, the liveness and the face match. Kashy's backend receives the outcome through a signed webhook and opens the wallet when the case is approved. Cases that need a person go to the review desk with the reasons attached.

Agents and assisted registration

When an agent joins the network, or registers a customer at a point of sale, Kashy sends both sides of the ID card to Konnect ID. The card is read, and the number the agent typed is compared with the number on the document. A mismatch or an unreadable card is refused with a precise reason, so the agent knows what to retake instead of guessing.

Remittance payouts

Before an agent hands over a transfer, the beneficiary's ID card or passport is read and checked against the identity expected by the transfer. Konnect ID tells a Tunisian ID card from a passport or a driving licence, reads the machine-readable zone of foreign documents, and returns one refusal reason per problem, such as an unreadable card or a document that does not match.

AML screening and company accounts

Kashy's compliance tools call Konnect ID's screening to check names against watchlists, and keep the result in their own audit trail. Businesses that open an account from the Kashy dashboard upload their company documents through a hosted Konnect ID KYB session.

Both. Wallet onboarding uses the hosted flow with signed webhooks; agent checks, remittance payouts and screening call the API from Kashy's backend.

Which documents are accepted?
