Customer story

Merchant onboarding,
without the paperwork chase.

Konnect's payment gateway lets Tunisian businesses accept online payments. Before a merchant can take a single payment, Konnect ID verifies the company, the person who signs for it and the people who own it.

The challenge

A payment facilitator is accountable for the merchants it brings onto the network. Collecting registration extracts and tax documents by email is slow, files go missing, and nothing proves that the person signing is who they say they are or has the authority to sign. Money laundering and merchant fraud hide in exactly those gaps.

The flow

  • The merchant's representative verifies their own identity: ID card or passport, then a live selfie.
  • They declare their role and signing powers.
  • They upload the RNE extract and the tax registration, plus any other legal document Konnect asks for.
  • They record the beneficial owners and their shares.
  • Konnect's compliance team reviews one case file and approves, declines or asks for a single missing document.

A document list per program

The required documents are a manifest set per application, in Arabic, French and English. Konnect started with the RNE extract and the patente, and can ask for more for higher-risk merchants without changing any code.

What Konnect gets

  • Company and signatory verified together, in one session.
  • Every document in one place, with who uploaded it and when.
  • Ownership on record for beneficial owner checks.
  • A case report to show partners and auditors.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can the document list change per merchant category?

Yes. The KYB manifest is set per application or per session, with required and optional items and labels in three languages.

What if one document is wrong?

The reviewer asks for that document only. The merchant receives a link and redoes just that step.
